GENERAL INFORMATION ABOUT NEY AND USER MANUAL
⦁ The instrument you have is prepared from the kind of reeds suitable for the requirement of being ney.
⦁ The Neys, which were cut on time and the drying time was completed, and opened with care by the most valuable craftsmen of Turkey, are personally selected by Neyzen Kerem Tufan and specially prepared for you.
⦁ The mouthpiece is called başpare which is made of standard European Delrin material. It complies with health and wellness requirements and is adequate in terms of sound and performance.
⦁ *Parazvanes (upper and lower) are made of Alpaca silver (German silver).
⦁ The inner chamber of the Başpare is integrated into the sound box, ready for timbre and tone harmony.
⦁ The sound harmony of your instrument itself and the tuning control at the frequency of 440 Hz has been evaluated by Neyzen Kerem Tufan personally and evaluated taking into account your physical and personal characteristics.
WARNINGS AND RECOMMENDATIONS
⦁ Do not leave your instrument in the storage box that we sent to you as a gift. Evaluate it only for the duty of transportation and protection.
⦁ Warning: It is not possible to return and exchange it in case of mold by staying in an airless environment such as its storage case, especially when your ney’s voice box is damp due to your breathing. However, you can contact us for its care and our advice.
⦁ You should not leave your ney in an upright position in a fixed place.
⦁ Position it on a high and flat surface like a table, leaving its başpare off the edge, so that the rest of the ney touches the surface of the table.
⦁ Never leave your ney in a damp area.
⦁ Make sure that it is in a room temperature place.
⦁ Do not forget that başpare and ney should not be separated from each other.
⦁ Do not pay attention to the physical details of your ney (reed) while you are in the learning process. Do not forget that what you need to do in this process is nothing but blowing on ney.
⦁ Never use essences such as rose and amber, which will prevent the natural smell of the reed, into your ney. This situation can seriously deteriorate the fiber structure of the reed and cause the release of bad odors that can never be resolved later.
⦁ Since you are just starting to use diaphragmatic breathing, you may experience momentary dizziness due to the increased amount of oxygen going to the brain. This is a usual, normal and temporary situation.
⦁ You must sterilize it when someone else blows it to try your ney. Otherwise, it is possible to have cold sores around your mouth and on your lips.
⦁ It is a common situation for parazvane to become abundant and dislocate due to weather conditions. As a temporary solution, it will be possible to tighten it with teflon tape.
⦁ Warning: In such a case, there may be a risk of cracking if you try to insert the başpare into the sound box (upper node) by pressing it suddenly. Please be careful.
⦁ In case of oxidation, it is possible to clean parazvanes by wiping them. If this situation bothers you, it is enough to create a protective layer on it with brightening nail polish.

• The rings made of various metals and tightly attached around the upper and lower end of a ney in order to prevent cracking are called parazvâne.
